‘Nushi’ by Jacqueline Tiepermann

BECKER MINTY Art is proud to announce a new exhibition by Australian painter, Jacqueline Tiepermann.

Jacqueline Tiepermann is a Melbourne based artist whose work is deeply grounded in the personal. Originally from Sydney, her childhood memories of life by the harbour are reflected in works that explore the tranquil and restorative power of water.

Her work has at its centre, a strong spiritual undercurrent and investigates themes of love, loss and memory. Core to Jacqueline’s work is a dedicated studio practice that positions the studio as a site for investigations that transcend the physical realm and embrace an alternate space populated and defined by the artists memories and dreams.

‘Nushi’ represents Jacqueline’s second exhibition with Becker Minty Art following on from her 2014 solo exhibition ‘Viaggio’.

“Nushi” is neither morbid nor sad; it is a love story, stories of memories, companionship, passion but most of all love. This body of work was a vital step in Jacqueline Tiepermann's recovery after the accident which took the life of her beloved husband Hans. The paintings are created within a restricted colour palette expressing both the boat loving Hans' preferred blue tones, and Jacqueline's own commitment to using water as a dialogue in her work.

‘Nushi’ was a term of endearment for Hans and the exhibition embodies the bond of love that will be there forever. “It was almost eight months to the day that I returned to my studio after the accident. July 2014 was momentous; it marked the beginning of life without him” Jacqueline Tiepermann

The series of works will be exhibited in a solo show at BECKER MINTY Art, taking residency at the Yellow House Gallery, 57 - 59 Macleay St, Potts Point.Opening night: Tuesday 17th November 6:30pm.The exhibition will run until Sunday 22nd November. The exhibition will also be showcased on both the BECKER MINTY Fine Arts 1st Dibs Gallery and the BECKER MINTY Website.

Jacqueline Tiepermann is a Melbourne based artist who studied Graphic Art at East Sydney Technical College. Her large-scale paintings are sized to excite the visual senses, drawing the viewer in with her application of exhilarating colours and textures.

As a teenager, Tiepermann worked with iconic screenprinter Florence Broadhurst, where she developed her lifelong love of colour and texture. Her career has spanned the worlds of art and fashion design.

Jacqueline’s work is featured in numerous significant private collections throughout Australia including site-specific commissions for individuals and organisations.
